And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain

이제 마지막 순간이 다가왔어요
난 마지막 커튼이 내려지는 순간을 대하게 되었습니다

My friend, Ill say it clear
내 친구여, 내가 명확히 말해 두겠소

Ill state my case of which Im certain
내가 확신하는 인생의 방식에 대해서 말이요
Ive lived a life thats full
나는 인생을 충만하게 살아왔소
I travelled each and every highway 전세계 모든 나라들을 다 가보았소
And more, much more than this I did it my way
그리고 그 무엇보다 중요한 것은 내 삶을 내 방식대로 살았다는 것이오.

Regrets, Ive had a few But then again too few to mention
후회, 조금 있었지 그러나 후회에 대해 말할 것은 거의 없어요
I did what I had to do 나는 내가 해야 할 일을 다했고
And saw it through without exemption
힘든 고난의 일들을 편법을 쓰지 않고 다 했다네
I planned each chartered course 나는 내가 세운 인생계획도를 차근차근 열어갔네
Each careful step along the byway 차근차근 계속해서 길을 따라 걸어 내려갔네

 

And more, much more than this I did it, my way
그리고 그 무엇보다 중요한 것은 내 삶을 내 방식대로 살았다는 것일세.
Yes, there were times Im sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
그래, 당신도 알다시피 삼키지 못할 것을 물어뜯은 적도 있어
But through it all when there was doubt 그러나 그 와중에 의심스러울 때는

I ate it up and spit it out I faces it all and I stood tall
그것을 다 먹고 씨알만 내뱉었어 모든 것과 정면으로 맞서면서
난 당당했고 내 방식대로 해냈던 거야
And did it my way Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried
사랑도 했고, 웃기도 하고 울기도 했지
Ive had my fill, my share of losing 난 만족감도 얻었고, 좌절도 겪었지
And now as tears subside I find it all so amusing
그러나 이제 눈물을 거두니 모든 것이 우습기만 하군
To think I did all that and may I say not in a shy way
내가 한 일을 생각해보며 부끄럽지 않다고 말해도 좋을 것 같아

Oh, no, oh no not me I did it my way
아니, 난 달라. 난 내 방식대로 살았어
For what is a man, what has he got
남자가 사는 이유가 무엇이며 손에 가지고 있는 것이 무슨 소용이 있겠어

If not himself then he has naught 자기 자신을 지키지 못하면 아무 것도 아니지
To say the things he truly feels 자신이 진실하게 느낀 것을 이야기해야 해
And not the words of one who kneels 비굴한 말을 하면 안되고
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way
나의 과거가 말해 주듯이 온갖 어려움을 겪으면서도 내 길을 걸었어
Yes, it was my way 그래. 그것이 나의 인생의 방식이었네
